Deuteronomy: Choose Life
Deuteronomy is a collection of sermons Moses preached on the edge of the Promised Land, to a people living between what God had done and what he had promised. We are walking through it in five movements: Remember, Love, Worship, Live, and Belong.
The five movements
Remember
- Week one: People on the Way
God’s people are always on the way.
- Week two: The God Who Holds Tomorrow
We are prone to forget what God has done, and forgetting makes us afraid.
- Week three: Fine Print or Wedding Vows
God’s commands are not the fine print of faith.
- Week four: A Right View of God
The greatest threat to our life with God is rarely a dramatic rebellion.
Love
- Week five: Love that Looks Like Obedience
The Ten Commandments are not a ladder we climb to earn God’s love.
- Week six: A Heart That Hears and Obeys God
God has spoken, and his voice deserves more than a moment of awe.
- Week seven: The Exchange Zone
Loving God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength was never designed to live and die inside one generation.
- This week
Week eight: Full Hands, Empty MemoryThe moment of greatest spiritual danger is rarely the crisis.
