Sermons › Deuteronomy: Choose Life › Week ten
Not by Bread Alone
The big ideaTrue life is not found in what we can provide for ourselves. It is found in trusting God for everything, in seasons of scarcity and in seasons of abundance. God led Israel through forty years of wilderness so they would learn that people do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. The lesson was never that they had to earn their bread. It was that the God who gave it had loved them first, and had never once let go.
